Journal History

I have seen many things in my time of dueling.

Since nearly Generation 1 till now, the fastest, or most controlling decks won the games. Each by some weird or interesting tactics.

Second generation we saw some crazy decks, fast and even in some ways over powered. Lightsworns, Crystal Beasts, and the very beginning of the Elemental Hero's, and of course the Gladiator Beasts. But still in many ways they decks could control and rarely could win in a turn.

Then we came the third Generation, which brought about a new change unlike anything we saw before in the game. Synchro and Tuner monsters. The decks that could use them began controlling the game. And not in a bad way, many decks learned to add these elements to the deck, but still the decks did not get to crazy.
Well outside a few decks, which where hit hard and those powerful decks where killed. Still the speed increased, and the amount of control increased as well.

Finally we came to the most recent Generation of Yugioh, and the next big change. Xyz Monsters. And still even with these new cards, it did not hurt the decks as much as one would think. But rather gave old decks new life. It made some over powered decks to say the least, but still they stayed within what would be considered normal limits and craziness of duels. But still even then the decks... got a little faster and more powerful, but with this came new cards to more than deal with these increase.

But now I have heard of a new style the fifth generation. From what I understand, it makes all other generations useless and pointless. If you am not sure what I mean, well in the most recently dueling styles you could still hit a big monster or two by your second turn or even win if your lucky. Still it rarely gave you a solid win, or at least without some big risks.

But this new generation can let you summon a large amount of big monsters with little or no effort. And not just one at a time, but several.
So rather than just dropping one Blue-eyes white dragon or some other big monster they could drop three of these, and still have other cards they could play.

To me that is not dueling anymore, that is hay look I win.

To me right now I don't want to see the new style of Pendulum summon come out. I see it as a good idea, and could stay if there was some strong limits on it. As of right now it breaks to many of the old rules, and changes dueling styles complete.

In short I rather looking at saying good bye to Yugioh as we once all knew it.
